According to the World Economic Forum Future of Jobs Survey  – Emotional Intelligence (EI) is a key skill for today and into 2022. It underpins leadership excellence and is a better predictor of a person’s success than IQ.  

Emotional Intelligence, commonly referred to as EQ or EI by Daniel Goleman, is the ability to recognise, understand and manage our own emotions while at the same time recognising, understanding and influencing the emotions of others.  Having Emotional Intelligence means being self-aware, being able to show empathy and see things from other peoples' points of view. It means you can adapt and flex your style and approach, whilst remaining resilient and calm in the face of pressure and change.

One study* of 300 top-level executives from 15 global companies concluded that 85-90% of leadership success was linked to social and emotional intelligence.  EI enables leaders to create high performance work environments that positively impact the bottom line.  A study** which quantified this found that consulting partners with high EI delivered $1.2 million more profit from their accounts than their peers.
